Reverse Crunch
How to do it
Starting position
- Lie comfortably on your back on the floor
- Place your arms on the floor by your sides
- Bend your knees and lift your legs into the air
- Keep your thighs perpendicular to the floor
Movement
- Engage your abs and contract your lower abs
- Slowly pull your pelvis toward your chest
- Do not let your lower back arch when lowering your legs
Breathing
Exhale as you lift your hips and inhale as you return to the starting position
Trainer tips
- Curl your knees up toward your chest
- Lift your pelvis off the floor
- Don't arch your lower back as you lower
Cautions
- Keep your abs braced so your lower back does not lift too far off the floor
- Swinging using only leg momentum
- Moving only the legs without lifting the pelvis
If you feel pain during the exercise, stop. If it continues, talk to a professional.
