Cable Reverse Crunch
How to do it
Starting position
- Attach the strap to the low cable pulley.
- Lie down facing away from the cable and attach the strap to your ankles.
- Bring your legs together and bend your knees to 90 degrees.
- Place both hands on the floor to stabilize your upper body.
Movement
- Engage your lower abs and pull your knees toward your chest.
- Lift your hips and strongly contract your abs.
- Slowly lower your legs back to the starting position.
Breathing
Exhale as you pull your legs in, and inhale as you lower them.
Cautions
- If you use momentum, it strains your lower back, so be careful.
- When lowering your legs, make sure your lower back does not lift.

How GYMKC sets the weight for this exercise
For example, if you do 10 reps with 40 kg and log that you could have done about 2 more, GYMKC estimates your 1RM at about 57.6 kg.
With the cable machine, each step is 5 kg (10 lb), so the next weight is 45 kg. Within your 10–20 reps target, the sets you log decide whether to add reps first or add weight.
These numbers are an example of how the calculation works. Your actual prescription is recalculated every set from your own records. See how the calculation works
