Cable Lateral Raise: Do you use momentum when it gets hard?
Raise your arm at the same speed every rep. Do not use momentum, even when it gets hard.
How to fix it
- Hold the handle and stand with your torso upright.
- At the same speed every rep, raise your arm out to the side until it is parallel to the floor.
- After raising it fully, lower your arm to the starting position.
The app sets the reps for your next set
(For exercises you added to your routine yourself) For example, if you are a beginner and completed all 14 reps in each set at 5kg as planned in your last workout, the app keeps the weight the same and increases your reps to 15. When you log your sets, GYMKC reads your last set and recalculates the weight and reps for your next set.

Sources differ slightly. Some suggest keeping your elbow slightly bent and fixed throughout the movement. One study had participants raise their arm with the elbow fully straight. Either way, do not bend your elbow more to pull the weight up as you raise.
